Karuna Singh
Karuna Singh opened the Earth Day Network office in India in 2010. This is now expanded to cover other countries in Asia as well. This is the only international office Earth Day Network has outside of the United States. Under her leadership, the number of programs held in India alone has grown exponentially and today touch close to 35 million lives annually.
Her ongoing commitments include board membership of the Global Environment Facility, UNDP and the Government of India Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change’s Small Grants Program. She also chairs their Committee for the North East Region of India. Ms. Singh has been invited by the Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research, Japan to provide expert advice to develop a South Asian hub for collaborative research and capacity building toward climate preparedness and change management.
She is regularly called upon to make presentations. These include speaking at the 2015 UN Conference of Parties 21 in Paris on ‘Women Panchayat Leaders and the Environment’. Ms. Singh has also spoken at US State Department conferences in Sri Lanka and Thailand, and at a South East Asia conference in Myanmar. Ms. Singh is the author of several articles and eBooks.
