Shesh Narain Singh

Shesh Narain Singh is a senior journalist with over thirty years of extensive experience covering Indian politics, governance, social conflict, community relations and rural development. He is a commentator on policy and development issues for newspapers, radio and television news.

He is currently the political editor of the Hindi newspaper ‘Deshbandhu’; a regular political commentator on the news network ‘TV18’(which includes channels such as News18, CNBC-Awaz and ETV); and is also a columnist with many newspapers and online portals.

He is also regularly invited as a political analyst on many popular news channels in India including Lok Sabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV and DD News.In the past, he has been associated with several leading news organizations like NDTV, Star News, BBC, ABP News and Times Now. Starting his career as an academic at the University of Gorakhpur, he moved to Delhi in the 1970s and dedicated his career to journalism. He is an avid reader and writer and his research area have been ‘Gandhi’ and the ‘Indian Freedom Movement’.

Shesh Narain Singh is also a contributor to the Urdu press. His regular columns feature in India’s largest circulated Urdu daily ‘Inquilab’. He has also been the Executive Editor of Urdu daily ‘Sahafat’. He has written extensively on Gandhi, Ambedkar, Jyoti Rao Phule, Sardar Patel and is passionate about the issues of rural India and agrarian economy. He has also taught journalism at Jagran Institute of Mass Communication and is often invited for lectures on journalism and politics.
